DPR Member Proposes Formation of Food Technology Roadmap

Member of Commission IV of the House of Representatives (“DPR”) Firman Soebagyo proposed that the government form a National Food Technology Roadmap to achieve food sovereignty.

“To be more effective and efficient (then) technology is needed. For example, organic fertilizers are needed that can increase production, then harvesting tools, what kind of cooperation with other parties. There is no roadmap,” he said to Hukumonline.

It is feared that food sovereignty cannot be realized without the roadmap. “There is no concept of food technology, also how the government can answer the challenges in realizing food self-sufficiency, this is not yet clear,” concluded Firman.
